From February 11 to 16, 2018, was held in Bamako on 19th Congress of the African Water Association, under the theme: “Accelerating access to sanitation and water in Africa in the face of the challenges of climate change”. It emerged from this Congress that, this theme evokes a major challenge, and winning this challenge calls for the genius of man. Also, women must play their full role in the fight against Climate Change, which requires innovation, solidarity and complementarity, as strongly recommended by the 3th Women's Forum.
With regard to drinking water, several papers presented examples of success that have used ICTs to minimize losses by charging for all the water supplied and to improve the service offer to the poorest populations. These examples of success due to ICTs also make it possible to ensure the securing and protection of water resources everywhere, by everyone and for everyone, while respecting water for nature.
This Congress, which was a great success as a whole, recorded the participation of a strong ONEP delegation headed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mrs. N'dioré Aya Adèle and the Director General of the ONEP Mr Berté Ibrahiman.
It is important to remember that the ONEP stand had a great attraction during this 19th AAE Congress.
