Presentation of New Year's greetings: the CEO of ONEP shows his determination to improve the rate of access to drinking water  

 

On Friday January 31, 2020, the traditional New Year's greetings ceremony took place at the Nenneya pavilion located in Abidjan Cocody between the Board of Directors, the General Management and the staff of the National Office for Drinking Water (ONEP).

 On this occasion, the Managing Director, Mr. BERTE Ibrahiman, took stock of the year 2019 and identified the outlook for 2020.

He also confided that faced with the difficulties of drinking water supply, ONEP took delivery last year of 36 drinking water supply works for the benefit of peri-urban populations.

 To this end, the rate of access to drinking water has increased from 65% in 2015 to 82% in 2019.

In addition, the launch of the Government's Social Program with the support of Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly has enabled Ivorians to have drinking water in their households. A total of 291 billion will be invested by December 31, 2020.

In addition, Mr. Louis Habonouan, Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of Onep, for his part, indicated that during the year 2019 commitments were made to work with the General Management in order to improve governance and management of the structure.

This beautiful ceremony, which took the form of a gala dinner, ended around midnight with the celebration of the retirees of the said structure.
